Garance Dore recently posted about the perfect denim workshirt spotted on fellow photographer, Cedric. Indeed, his shirt has all the markings of an ideal denim shirt, comfortably worn in with rumpled pockets and sun-lightened fadings. Upon closer inspection, she discovered that inside one rumpled pocket his wife had embroidered a tiny red heart. It’s a simple gesture, but one so adorable and romantic it can’t help but warm a girl’s heart.

Inspired by her post, I sought out a couple of perfect denim shirts you might want to add to your wardrobe:

1. KZO Sierra Shirt $132 2. Monarchy Lathan Woven Shirt $100
Now you’ll be ready when a girl decides to sew her heart in your shirt too.

We saw you drooling over those Nudie Big Bengt Jeans, but at $179 you might be reconsidering your purchase. And while The Sartorialist loves his A.P.C New Standards, $155 is still a little steep for an impulse jean purchase, even if they are ridiculously good-looking. If you’re looking for a pair of wallet-friendly raw denim, check out Levi’s 501 Shrink-To-Fit:

Levi’s 501 Original Shrink-To-Fit $37
Featuring an ultra dark, raw denim, these 501s will fade to your own personal wash with enough wears. They’re a great addition to your wardrobe, perfect for wearing this fall’s dark and slim denim trend.
And while they’re not selvedge, at $37, they’ll do!

The competition was intense but alas a winner has been chosen at tieordie.com. The hilarious fashion competition between two guys at a Philadelphia ad agency has finally come to a close and the winner in the Fruman vs Brown saga is…Ryan Brown. It’s no surprise as his outfits regularly featured snazzy accessories, colorful ties, and Stuff Boys Like favorite, man cardigans. Check out their month-long style battle, but be warned: It might just have you reaching for a tie when you get dressed tomorrow morning.

Most men neglect a very important, yet very underrated aspect of looking (ridiculously) good – Yes, I’m talking about shaving.

Unlike clothing, you won’t ever hear people say, “Nice shave!” or “That’s a sexy shave you have there!” or “Wow, that shave matches your top really well.” You just don’t get the fashion appeal from shaving that you get from clothing, yet it’s one accessory you wear every day.
When it comes to shaving, do it right – your face will thank you. Here’s how:
a) Pre-Shave Oil : Essential for softening the facial hair and preparing the skin for a smooth shave.
b) Shaving Cream : Not your typical Gilette “spray out of can” Shaving Gel. A good shaving creme prevents ingrown hairs, razor burns and cuts…ouch.
c) Shaving Brush : Use one. Brushes help create a nice lather that will get you that close comfortable shave.
d) After-Shave Moisturizer : Soothes and moisturizes the skin to give that refreshing feeling after a shave.

The Art of Shaving Full Size Kit ($100) offers Pre-Shave Oil (2 fl. oz), Shaving Cream (5.3 oz), After-Shave Balm (4 fl. oz), and a Pure Badger Shaving Brush.
Comes in 4 aromatherapy-based scents so you can smell as good as you look.

Temperatures have been dipping down to the 50s and 60s the last couple of days, and in LA that means it’s time to put on a sweater. It’s a perfect time to don the fall fashion trend, the man cardigan, a hipster favorite and fashion classic. Today’s cardigan is effortless and casual, taking the iconic fashion piece from special occassion attire to every day wear. It’s grandpa-style done right. And if you don’t fancy looking like a stylish grandpa, you might like the fact that girls find it super adorable.
Simple and versatile, the man cardigan can be worn just as easily with jeans and a t-shirt as with slacks and a button up. Here’s how not be mistaken for Mr. Rogers:

1. J. Lindeberg Lymac True Merino Knit Cardigan ($111) 2. Nudie Big Bengt Dry Heavy ($179) 3. Nike All Court ($60)

1. Alternative Apparel Mr. Rogers Cardigan ($42) 2. Fremont Mark Drop Yoke Slacks Pants ($58) 3. American Apparel T-Shirt ($16)
With fall weather underway and a chilly forecast ahead, it’s time to put on a sweater, LA – actually, it’s time to put on a cardigan!

Here’s a tip from Gary, Seasoned-Man-Cardigan-Wearer: You don’t need to be hipster thin to wear this trend. Layer over non-bulky shirts like thin button ups or t-shirts. And wear unbuttoned on fat days.
