Spotted: The Saints arriving in style for the Super Bowl. Check out Reggie Bush’s three piece suit, Marques Colston’s snazzy blue pocket square, and Jeremy Shockey’s not one, but two, Gucci bags.

The best team in the league won’t be decided until Sunday, but it’s clear who the most stylish team is – who’s that? Who Dat Nation, of course.

One of our favorite brands, Band of Outsiders, just launched a new blog! It’s about – wait for it – cookies! I know delightfully baked delicious goodness isn’t our typical topic of choice, but come to think of it, why not? They’re stuff boys like! Check out BOO designer Scott Sternberg’s favorite cookies, which so far include Koo Koo Roo’s Snickerdoodle and Italian almond biscottis, but decidedly not Starbuck’s Outrageous Oatmeal Cookie (too many raisins). His cheeky unabashed love for cookies of all kinds is ridiculously charming.

Although you probably don’t want to eat too many snickerdoodles or you won’t be able to fit into your Band of Outsiders shirt.

Spotted: Brad and Maddox attending Saturday’s Saints vs Cardinals game. Maddox is wearing New Orleans Saints Jeremy Shockey’s jersey paired with a jaunty kid-sized fedora. Adorable, charming and just plain RGL, this little fellow reminds us what a difference accessories make. His fedora transforms a typical, ho-hum football game outfit to stylishly festive attire.

Incidentally, the Saints went on to crush the Cardinals, scoring 45 points and 2 defensive turnovers. Maybe they just didn’t want to disappoint their most stylish fan cheering from the sidelines. I’m just sayin’.

Let me guess: Your New Year’s resolutions this year include a stricter clothing budget, a more consistent use of eye cream, and maybe even a raw food cleanse. Ok, maybe that’s my list. But I do have a resolution that I think a lot of guys can benefit from, and it’s to take more risks when it comes to clothes.
A lot of my guy friends will read this blog and later tell me something along the lines of ‘Sperrys are cool and all, but I don’t think they’d look good on me”; or “I can’t wear man cardigans because they make me look fat”; or “Paul Walker can pull this off, but I can’t”. You get the idea. I’ve almost given up trying to convince them otherwise until I was reminded the other day of the story of Sean Avery, superstar hockey player and fashionista extraordinaire. You might be familiar with his work on the New York Rangers, but did you know Avery is also a self admitted fashionista with a shoe collection to rival Anna Wintour herself!
As a guy in one of the toughest sports around, he’s one of the last people you’d expect in a buttoned up lapel vest, yet here he is:

And here’s another athlete, Beckham, pulling off two of this season’s trends, the plaid shirt with the man cardigan:

It just goes to show that fashion is an area no longer reserved just for girls and metro guys. So here’s to embracing your inner fashionista in 2010. Trust me – if a hockey player can pull off a buttoned-up-wide-pointed-lapel-vest, yes, you can too.

It’s that time of year again – time to drag yourself to the mall, run from store to store, and frantically find a gift for your girlfriend that shows you, like, totally know her. If this sounds like a piece of cake, read no further – if, however, you could use a couple of gift suggestions, venture onwards to our holiday gift guide, girlfriend edition.

1. Iosseliani Stacked Rings ($251) 2. Prada Pumps ($295) 3. Belle by Sigerson Morrison Cut Out Oxford ($220) 4. CC Skye Mini Spike Bracelet ($125) 5. Dannijo Zindra Ring ($105) 6. Design House Stockholm Carrie Bicycle Basket ($70) 7. Urban Outfitters Monster Sock ($8)
When buying gifts for girls, I have just one piece of advice – stick to the following three categories:
- Shoes: Most guys don’t seem to believe me when I say this, but it’s true – a girl can never have enough shoes. From ankle boots to platforms to cut out oxford flats, how does a girl collect them all? Trust me when I say a new pair will go appreciatively into her collection.
- Jewelry: Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but let’s be real here – in this economy, we’ll settle for almost anything that sparkles. To quote Beyonce, put a ring (or studded bracelet) on it.
- Fun Stuff: When it comes down to it, it’s the little things you do together that mean the most, like reading in bed on Sunday mornings or riding bikes on the weekends. Surprise her with a gift that references one of your little traditions, i.e. getting her a snazzy new basket to jazz up her bike.
Whether it’s the Prada pumps or the monster socks, you’re guaranteed to deliver the perfect present, no gift receipt required!
